The registration/walk will again be in Mankato (at West high school) at 9am. We would love to have anyone join us for the walk or sponsor us in the walk. It was great to see so many people last year. These were all of the people that came last year! Here's a link to the walk site.
In February while Dad was in the hospital, I set our goal as $1200. Yesterday I thought we had it set at only $1000, and the program won't let me change it! So we're going to try and make it to 1200! We need your help! We're only 56% of the way there!
Today, we went to church and put out a plea and our shoes. We raised $501.55! The Sunday school kids are putting their offering this month to the ALS Walk - that will help. I know that families are stretched with their budgets, but this one has a real personal connection for us. Mom and Dad were the recipents of so much help from the ALSA of MN. Most of the things they got were medical assistive devices.
And this past year Mom and Dad were honored to be selected by the the ALS Association to be at the field and recognized for the 4th of July Twins game.
We all got to listen to Kent Hrbek read Lou Gehrig's speech from 1st base on the 70th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's retirement. Here Early Bird is watching Kent sign the ball that Early threw to Kent as the ceremonial opening pitch - "To Bill, Kent Hrbek."
Saturday will be a sad day, but it is the best we can do.
