Sick of being stuck inside this winter, we chose to go on an outing! We called around and found a grandpa to meet us. So we headed north to Wabasha to the National Eagle Center. It was very nice - brand new - opened in only last September. . . Son's favorite part was learning about the eagles. The eagles weren't in cages, so we were really close to them. There weren't many outside eagles, but we were able to see 1 through the telescope; it was in the trees across the river.
We had a nice gourmet pizza lunch with handmade chocolates for dessert. Then we went to the LARK toy store. They have hand carved a whole room of wooden toys and even made a carousel. Here he is riding on a deer with Grandpa. Look at how the bird on the deer is giving Ken the dirtiest look! Son was a little scared at first, but then loved it. The toy store is so big - anything you ever wanted (non-electronic). They have great toys from everyone's childhood. With all of the snow this winter, they made the biggest "real" snow man I've ever seen. For a frame of reference, the hat is 3 tires. 
I better get to helping Hubby with some household chores or we won't be known as the Happy Haacky Family!
