We just had the most fabulous day. We began with a visit to Grandpa and Grandma H's house. Sorry no picts; there wasn't anything exciting. . . a nice visit and good food and Not exciting - what am I thinking - we got to watch the neighbor taking down his tree and the kids took 2 hour naps!
Then we headed for the boys basketball playoff game. We got there 1/2 hour early and we sat near the 2nd from the top row. Toddler was in SHOCK about everything going on. She got some milk and 1/2 a hot dog and settled in for a game. By the end she was pointing and grunting at the boys on the court. It was too cute, but noone could hear b/c of all of the fans!
Now for the action of the game. It was a crazy close game... They've played before, and then our guys beat them by 1pt both times. There were tons of great plays by both teams. They were tied several times - 12pts, 24 pts, but we didn't have a lead until about 30 pts. Here's a fun stat - The other team hit lots of 3's, so we really made more baskets!
So the real fun came in the last minute! It had been tied at 52 for about 1-2 min already - Everyone is on their feet and clapping and screaming; Son had his hands on his ears and is shaking his head. . . Our guys get the ball and pass it around for a while. We take a time out with 22 seconds left. More passing and time passing. . . They pass to T.V. With moments left. . . He shots a 3, and it bounces out of the basket! His brother, B.V., is in the air and tips it back in! We're up by 2 with 1.8 sec remaining! Ohhh the intensity! 2 timeouts later and the clock starts back up. The pass is inbounded . . . And it goes off the finger tips and into safe hands of 2 of our guys! Oh how happy the brothers are tonight. A win next Tuesday would mean the 1st ever trip to state bb tourney! I really hope they get it! Check out the Post Bulletin story.
Sorry that the bb game gets more coverage than the G and G visit. Here's one for Grandma - "When are we going to open the cereal Grandma sent with us?" In the middle of the game! So he ate Trix, popcorn and pop for dinner. What a meal!

We'll be waiting impatiently to hear the results of the next BB game. This site can be quicker than the local news media! Will we get an update of all the cool stuff you get to do during spring break, too, like cleaning your house? And don't forget to plant your potatoes on Good Friday!
Well, the game was last night. We pretended we had a meeting to go to and left the kids home with a sitter.
I guess you probably didn't hear that we played our Aunt Ruth's team. They had been the only team to beat the boys all year. On this their third meeting, our guys won by 10 points.
As far as spring break goes, yep, lots of house cleaning. Can't plant potatoes until the snow is gone!
I like it when I don't read who did the last comment. . . I thought it was a sister!
