Trail Mix

We had a joyous Memorial day weekend. The house was clean, the lawn was mowed. Then we played at Kid's Coulee on Saturday and then ate at Rudy's Drive in. Sunday we found out a bit about our new pastor that will be joining our congregation late in June and then did some shopping. We got home just before the thunderstorm. Hubby decided to try out a new recipe Trail Mix bars from Smuckers. They turned out nicely last time, but this time he did some modifications. We had some pretty good trail mix, but didn't have enough honey get it all to stick together. I can't wait to see what happens next time.

Monday was by far the best day of the weekend. We all slept in until 7AM - and the Berry Princess slept until 9! Kreutzman's called and said they wanted to go on a bike ride. So we went on our inaugural ride on the Root River Trail. We tried out all of our new equipment and most of it worked well. We went with the wind on the first part stopped and had a picnic and then came back against the wind. Hubby said it was quite a workout to pull the kids back - a bit like canoeing into the wind. His quote of the day, "I'm tired. And it is too late for me to take a nap."
