ichael is just 1 year younger than Brian. Although we don't know Michael personally, we live in a small town and everyone knows someone in his family. Dick and Sheila Weiser, his parents adopted 12 children - Michael is somewhere in the middle. His mom talked with me about him years ago. She said he is such a good athelete brother and friend. Michael is first cousins with the Jim and John Berns (Dad- remember them?) and brother of one of Hubby's poker buddies - Todd.
After he gradated from here in 1999, he went to play football at NDSU. Michael has Wilson's disease and needs a kidney and liver transplant. One of his cousins in my class said that they took 7 pounds of fluid off of his body over the weekend. He hasn't any insurance and is being transported to Mayo from Vegas today.
He needs help - cash and prayers. The website does a great job of explaining his situation.

I see he passed away last night. I taught his younger brother and sister swim lessons...
How sad. Wilson's Disease - another uncommon disease that needs more research. Condolences to the family.
