What is the deal with the weather? We got a phone call from the new automated county weather system this am. Highway 26 is closed again due to mudslides. Travel is not advised in the county due to many roads that are closed due to either mudslides or flooding or debris that has fallen off the bluffs with all of the wind and rain. So how much rain have we gotten? As of about noon we had gotten about 33 inches of precip since Jan 1st. That is a lot of liquid! One of the local TV stations has a blog with a lot of info about the storms on it.
And families are trying to have graduation parties yesterday and today. Yesterday they were able to set up and have parties - as long as they finished by about 5pm. Graduation was today at 2, and it has been raining (hard) since about 2.
Guess I better go get out the swimming suit!

We have also had a very wet start to summer. It is quite funny to look down our street and see lawn signs advertising for roof and siding repair companies. At first I thought that they were going to be presidential election endorsements.
